School
I have decided to dedicate 1 section to the school, as I consider it very important, because there are many differences between the schools in Ireland and those in Spain.
My high school in Ireland was Scoil Pól, which is in the village of Kilfinane, which is a quite small village of about 900 inhabitants, but very nice.
We and our Erasmus partner were in the transition year, which is an optional one-year programme between junior cycle and senior cycle, in which they have different subjects, the classes are more practical than theoretical, they usually work mainly with projects, they hardly have homework and they don't have exams.
As I have already mentioned, the subjects are a bit different, although they also have the main ones, such as maths or English, but the rest are more fun, such as cooking, swimming, hicking, sewing or cake decorating, and there were also subjects to motivate the young people and inspire them for their future.
I was very struck by the fact that they don't use notebooks to write, but use ipads, which is compulsory to work at the school.
From the first moment, i have been so happy and i have felt very welcome by both the headmaster of the Scoil Pól and teachers included.
I have enjoyed and learnt a lot.
